Country Watch Officers supported by FSU and local SNT Officers secured a warrant to enter a caravan site in the Eastern Area of Hampshire this week. One male was arrested and two dogs recovered and other items seized. On going enquiries continue.

A spaniel dog that was stolen in 2010 has been found and returned to its owner.

There is a scam at the moment involving motorists that claim they have broken down. The scammers generally operate in lay-bys on main routes including motorway junctions, but have also been seen in urban areas. They attempt to flag down motorists, often claiming they are out of fuel. They state they have no cash or have lost their wallet elsewhere and will offer gold jewellery or, in some cases, a watch in exchange for money.

Please do not give them any cash or a lift to a station. Report it to police as soon as you can.

There has been a report on face book that stickers are being put on gates of properties by unknown people to let possible dogs thieves know there are dogs at the property.  Police have done investigations into this and it appears there is no evidence to suggest this is happening. In Australia this form of marking is used to inform any delivery person that there are dogs at the property and to be aware.
